We're proud to announce Firmware Upgrade Campaigns, a new capability of AVSystem's Hybrid CPE Management Platform, now available in the Unified Management Platform (UMP) and planned for Cloud ACS as the next step. The new module turns mass firmware rollouts, one of the riskiest routine operations in broadband, into a controlled, staged, and observable process across both TR-069 (CWMP) and TR-369 (USP) device fleets.
At CSP scale, a firmware upgrade is a fleet-wide operation with device-level consequences. A faulty image pushed without staged validation can disrupt hundreds of thousands of devices at once, while conventional bulk tooling reports only task success or failure, not whether devices reconnected, rebooted unexpectedly, or degraded the subscriber experience. The module was designed to close exactly that gap.
With Firmware Upgrade Campaigns, operators run firmware rollouts the way mature operations teams want to run them:
Each campaign runs from one source firmware version to a defined target version, and the same campaign process serves fleets managed by the TR-069 ACS or the TR-369 Controller, with no parallel toolchains as device estates migrate to USP.
The Firmware Upgrade Campaigns module extends AVSystem's approach of treating CPE fleets as governed systems rather than individual endpoints. Combined with device grouping, automation, and the digital-twin operational model (recently validated in carrier-grade stress tests), it gives operators lifecycle-level control over how firmware moves through the fleet: from validation through staged deployment to post-upgrade verification.
"Firmware is how operators ship security and features to millions of homes, and it deserves better than a progress bar. With Firmware Upgrade Campaigns, a rollout proves itself on a test batch, advances only as it succeeds, and shows operators what actually happened to their devices." — Bartłomiej Gdowski, Technical Product Manager at AVSystem.
The Firmware Upgrade Campaigns module is available in the Unified Management Platform. Existing UMP customers can contact their AVSystem representative to get started. Cloud ACS customers can contact the Customer Success team to learn about planned availability for their subscription.
