Technical Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager ready to take care of successful deployments of our products in our clients’ infrastructure. AVSystem’s products are systems for device management (e.g. home routers), service activation, monitoring and assurance dedicated to the CSP market (communication service providers – i.e., telco). On a daily basis, we cooperate with big names of the telco industry, such as: AT&T, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone. We are looking for professionals who can tackle complex projects with great analytical and planning skills and are not afraid to sometimes get their hands “dirty” with some technical tasks. Since our systems are dedicated to CSP we expect candidates to have good knowledge of computer networks and service providers infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans and timelines, and ensure that project goals and objectives are clearly defined and communicated.
  • Manage project resources to ensure that project tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes delegating tasks to engineering and site reliability teams as well as configuring the system by yourself. What we mean by getting hands “dirty” is:
    • Act as a subject matter expert with ability to take part in internal/external technical discussions,
    • Interact with all involved parties of the project to identify technical implementation gaps,
    • Gather and explain customers’ technical expectations to engineering teams.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, and develop contingency plans to mitigate any potential problems.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including clients representatives and team members to keep them informed about project progress and any issues that may arise. 
  • Analyze project performance data to identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to improve project delivery processes for clients.
  • Train the customers how to use our systems effectively.
  • This position requires supporting a customer based in Seattle (Pacific Time Zone). As such, you must be available for four hours during PST business hours typically from 14:00 to 18:00 CET on some days and from 16:00 to 22:00 CET on others three to five days per week.

Requirements

  • We are looking for a great team player with excellent planning, communication and negotiation skills,
  • Who is able to plan and execute short- and long-term projects,
  • Who thrives from getting things done on time,
  • Who can effectively divide a big project into small and manageable steps,
  • Who has a track record of successful deployments of complex software projects (preferably in Telco industry),
  • Who holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (telecommunication, ICT, IT preferred),
  • Who has hands-on experience in implementation team management,
  • Who has broad & deep understanding of technical aspects of accompanying technologies: networks and TCP/IP stack (CCNA knowledge level or above), HTTP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, Linux, servers, applications, APIs, PKI, virtualization etc.
  • Who speaks fluent Polish and English (C1).

Nice to have

  • Experience in delivery in on-premises and SaaS models in diverse environments
  • Understanding of complex multi-server architectures with load balancers
  • Skill in REST API automation with external tools
  • Knowledge of access technologies: xDSL, xPON, HFC, LTE and associated standards 
  • Experience in management (CLI & NMS) for OLT from vendors such as Nokia, Huawei, ZTE
  • Experience in IT monitoring software – admin or user, previous hands-on experience in networks or Linux systems administration, or other similar skills
