Kraków, Poland, October 9, 2026 - AVSystem will return to Metering Days on 17–18 November 2026 at ESPERANTO in Fulda, Germany. At Booth D5, our team will demonstrate how LwM2M-based network management helps utilities, distribution system operators, metering point operators and device manufacturers accelerate the Smart Meter Gateway rollout while improving visibility, interoperability and control at scale.
From rollout to reliable operation
iMsys operators need a reliable way to monitor communication infrastructure, investigate issues remotely and manage the device lifecycle across multi-vendor fleets.
At Metering Days, AVSystem will showcase Coiote NMS, a vendor-independent Network Management System that provides insight into Smart Meter Gateway connectivity and connection quality. The company delivers its client-side device management Anjay IoT SDK library, utilized by the majority of SMGW vendors, enabling LwM2M-based communication with the NMS Server.
Diagnostic data from compatible SMGW’s helps teams narrow down the possible causes of communication issues, respond faster and reduce unnecessary on-site interventions.
We will also demonstrate map views, dashboards and tenant management in Coiote NMS. Visitors will see how a geographic overview of the fleet can be combined with device status and available connectivity data to identify anomalies and prioritize further investigation. We will also show how multiple customer environments can be managed on a shared platform while keeping devices, data and access rights assigned to their respective tenants. This is particularly relevant for GWA service providers managing SMGW fleets on behalf of multiple metering point operators.
AVSystem will present live SMGW network management demos at Booth D5 on 17 November at 14:40 CET and 18 November at 10:30 CET. The demos will show how to verify device status before the installer leaves the metering point, monitor connectivity and prioritize incidents across multi-vendor SMGW fleets, and configure devices and update firmware remotely to reduce unnecessary site visits.
Visitors can discuss practical use cases with the AVSystem team, including:
- Checking connection quality during and after SMGW installation
- Validating that newly installed devices communicate correctly
- Detecting unreachable devices and weak or unstable cellular connections early
- Remote configuration, monitoring and lifecycle management at scale
- Managing diverse hardware through a shared, standards-based management layer
- Monitoring fleets using map views and dashboards
- Operating across tenants while maintaining separate customer environments and role-based access
AVSystem’s end-to-end LwM2M ecosystem combines Coiote NMS with Anjay IoT SDK for device-side integration and professional integration services connecting devices and upstream systems. This gives operators and manufacturers a practical approach to secure, interoperable SMGW network management that can evolve over time.
Rafał Kupis to speak at Metering Days 2026
Rafał Kupis, Presales Engineer at AVSystem, will also take the stage at Metering Days 2026. Drawing on AVSystem’s experience in the German smart metering ecosystem, he will share a practical perspective on the operational challenges of large-scale SMGW rollouts and the role of standards-based network management in addressing them.
Session: Any SMGW. Any Scale. Any Integration. One NMS.
